KHCB – Q & A – June 25, 2020

The transcript contains the Questions received – parenthesis indicate where in the broadcast the question is asked :

Questions:

1 – (07:32) – Was there really tension between Paul and the Jerusalem church?  Such that people from the Jerusalem church had to “clean up” behind Paul and correct his teachings.  What made Paul qualified to be an Apostle since he doesn’t meet the requirements in Acts 1:21-22?  Also, the caller notes that Paul’s companions, according to Acts 9, could not confirm that Paul had seen Christ.

2 – (14:15) – Is there a sin, or a number of sins, or repeating of sins by which God would stop blessing you or stop hearing your prayers?

3 – (20:38) – I wanted to ask a question along the lines of blaspheming the Holy Spirit.  A couple of things that I have been going thru, I hear thoughts and voices like demons or devils.  Constantly, I know that is what they are because they are always blaspheming His name.  It’s been happening for quite some time, everyday, and I can’t get no rest. The caller is asking for direction from God’s Word on this.

4 – (32:48) – From Acts 15:29 “You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.”  My question is, since that was such an important thing that went out to all the Gentile cities, why isn’t that preached more to churches today?  One more comment, in Acts 15:40, Paul and Silas went out and they said “but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord.”  Why don’t we just say that to people?

5 – (40:52) – From Malachi 3:8, “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings.” This verse is usually used by churches to collect tithes and offerings.  Is there any scriptural basis for having the full tenth brought to one place?  Or may it be divided between sources of blessings, especially in this time of sheltering in place (due to Covid)?  Question #2 comes from the Book of Acts 8:13 – it says “Simon believed” but when you read thru verse 24, it seems to say maybe that he didn’t believe.  But Acts 16:31, it leaves no doubt.  Can you discuss that?

6 – (49:35) – Where in the Bible does it say that we will have “glorified” bodies and what does that mean?

7 – (52:50) – The caller wants to know what the Bible would say about dealing with depression?
