Questions
– (04:28) – Could you please explain Acts 8:14 -17? I’m a little confused about how the new Christians not having received the Holy Spirit until Peter and John laid their hands upon the Believers.
– (10:50) – My question comes from Matthew 11:28 where it says “come unto Me all you who are weak and heavy laden and I will give you rest”. My question is – as the reality of rest is in Christ, is the observance of the Sabbath day meaningless?
– (14:28) – My question is concerning grace. I’m trying to understand – does grace save us or do we save ourselves? My question comes out of Titus 2:11 – but this is grace – for the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all men. And this is the purpose of grace – to teach us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust, live soberly and righteous and godly in this present world. Grace is to teach us how to live this way and if we don’t learn this, are we still saved? So, explain – what is the real meaning of grace.
– (19:19) – I was talking to my brother about when Jesus Christ appeared after the 3 days after His death. I’m reading from NASB 95 (Matt 12:40). It says “40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” So my question to Pastor Woods is – I’ve heard a lot of interpretations about this verse. A lot of people say that Jesus Christ suffered in Hell. I want to see your perspective and maybe you can elaborate more on that verse.
– (24:00) – My question is – regarding Matthew 4:7 where Jesus is tempted by the devil. Jesus’ response to the devil was “you shall not put the Lord your God to the test”. And my question is, was he referring to God the Father or was he referring to himself?
– (26:17) – Understanding the attributes of God from a theological standpoint, can we make him angry?
– (28:36) – I’m just curious – praying before meals. Like is it a sin not to pray or does it affect your sanctification? You know what about snacking? Like is it okay to think to yourself? Finally like hey, I recognize, I give thanks for this snack. Is there a guideline?
– (35:30) – When Jesus was here on Earth and He did miracles and all that. From what I have read in the Bible, He did all of those instant miracles, they were instant. Now in today’s modern day, when ministers pray, I would like to know why some miracles happen instantly and some miracles, healings – they happen gradually.
– (38:38) – In regards to apologetics, how would you respond to someone who says that the Bible is a collection of mythological stories taken from other cultures? For example the Greek culture.
– (43:55) – If the church consists of only those who have been redeemed in the interval between Pentecost and the Rapture, and if the entire church is to be Raptured, then there will be no Christians on Earth during the period between the Rapture and the appearing. Yet, during that period 144,000 in Israel and an innumerable multitude from the Gentiles are to be saved. How is this to be brought about if the church has been Raptured and the Holy Spirit removed from the Earth?
– (49:26) – Do we have any evidence that there are books that were edited OUT of the Bible?
– (53:29) – This is going to come out a little convoluted. I’m looking at Isiah 30:19-26 and it’s about future Israel and I believe it’s about the Millennial Kingdom. So, yourself and Dr. Woods have spent literally half your life or more getting your theology degrees and whatnot.
Is there a way for laymen like myself, without looking at outside sources, kind of try to figure out what verses are prophecy? A lot of the Old Testament chapters – they throw in like prophecy in the middle of something that’s current back in the day. How do you pick out what’s future? I just need some guidelines.
– (58:30) – Habakkuk prophesied in 2:4 “the just shall live by faith”. Paul quoted that in 1:17 of Romans, he quoted it in Galatians 3:11 and the author of Hebrews quoted it in 10:38. Does that indicate that possibly Paul is the author of Hebrews?
