KHCB – Q & A – July 24, 2020

The transcript contains the Questions received – parenthesis indicate where in the broadcast the question is asked :

Questions:

– (02:15) – A letter from a prisoner – In Matt 10:34-35 Jesus says that He didn’t come to bring peace, but a sword.  This seems to contradict Christ being the Prince of Peace.  I was wondering if perhaps He was alluding to the 2nd Coming where He will judge people and separate the sheep from the goats.  In that context, these verses make more sense. What are your thoughts on this?

– (07:00) – The 3rd commandment says “Do not take the Lord’s Name in vain”.  When people say “Oh my God! Oh my God!” is that a sin?  My 2nd question is I have a friend of mine that she’s in peace with God, but she’s married to her same sex and is at peace with God.  I know it’s a sin to be a homosexual, but she’s a true believer, so I don’t know if she’ll go to Heaven or not.

– (14:00) – If the New Kingdom will be in Israel, how is it that God will destroy the whole Universe with fire?

– (18:15) – Based on Col 3:11, will there be division, specifically between Jews and Gentiles in the New Kingdom?

– (23:33) – I am not one to cause strife in the Body of Christ, it’s hard for me to receive Jesus and fully God and fully Man.  The conception was not natural that the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary.  And I understand that.  Then, in Acts 10:38 where Peter is talking to Cornelius “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.”  Just like God can be with us, then why can’t we be like that – fully man and fully God?

– (32:20) – I had a question on 1st John 5:16 “If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.”  I didn’t know what that meant….does it apply to everyone or just believers or non-believers?

– (35:25) – Are the instructions in 1st Cor 5:9-13 required to be followed today?  How do you determine who is the immoral, greedy, swindlers, idolators in order to remove them from the church today?

– (42:20) – What does “thief in the night” mean in Matt 5 and 1 Thess 5?

– (45:18) – How can the Bible help with post traumatic distress?

– (48:23) – If Jesus did not have a sin nature, why did He have to fast?

– (51:15) – Will the Earth have to be remade before the Millenium Kingdom in light of all the Bowls of Judgement and Seals?

– (53:15) – Why did Jesus play games with the guys on the Road to Emmaus by asking them “what things?”  The scripture in Luke 24:17-19 reads “He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”  They stood still, their faces downcast. 18 One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”  19 “What things?” he asked.”  Was that just his sense of humor?

– (56:00) – Some of the most highly respected Christian teachers embrace different positions on the tithe, gay marriage, women pastors and music in the church.  What does the Bible teach us about how we should react to these teachings?

– (57:42) – Caller wants to know if the Cover of the Ark that’s mentioned in Exodus 36:6-9  refers to Jesus?
