KHCB – Q & A – August 13, 2020

The transcript contains the Questions received – parenthesis indicate where in the broadcast the question is asked :

Questions:

1 – (04:25) – Where do souls come from for new-born babies? Since God has not created anything about a person since Day 6 of creation, when does a soul come about and is it in a new-born baby?

2 – (09:15) – I’m reading Rev 2:26 and on into Rev 3 and was wondering who is “he that overcomes”?  It mentions it several times in the text.

3 – (13:44) – Weeks ago, I heard something on your show concerning homosexuality and the radio host was saying that there’s no difference between homosexuality and gossip, and no difference between homosexuality and adultery and fornication and so forth.  The problem that I had with that response, is that God says that the sin of homosexuality is an abomination.  I think that what we need to understand in that, is why God would say it’s an abomination is because it is unnatural.  The caller’s question comes down to “is there a ranking of sin”?

4 – (20:15) – My first question is about the talents given in Matt 25.  Is it too ambitious for a Christian to be so ambitious that he desires to be a 1 talent Christian who winds up with 100 talents to present to the Lord.  My second question is from Hebrews 12 (KJV) “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,”.  What was the joy that was set before Him?  He had already been God on the throne of God.  What was so joyful that He would endure the cross?  What is the joy that he is talking about?

5 – (32:42) – Is there any prophecy or other indication in Scripture of the length of time between the Rapture and the beginning of the Tribulation?

6 – (36:28) – On the subject of Predestination and Election – I know there are verses on both sides that talk about Predestination and Election, whosoever will, and not willing that anyone  should perish, but I have a difficult time, knowing God’s character, how He would predestine some for Heaven and thereby predestine some for Hell for not believing when they could not believe.  Christ said of Judas “It was better that he had not been born”.  I could understand that statement if Judas had free will, but it’s hard to understand that if Judas had no choice, was not elected, then that would mean that God did something that was not better in allowing him to be born.

7 – (43:18) – What does John mean when he writes in 3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

8 – (46:00) – Are there any passages in Scripture which support the concept that the essence of man is an immortal spirit entity, commonly termed “the immortal soul”?  How do we know that our souls go forever?

9 – (50:20) – A lot of times, it is possible that we get predestination, fore-knowledge and prophecy mixed up?  Because sometimes I think we override on some things.  The Bible speaks of the fore-knowledge of God, not so much the predestination of it.  The caller next mentions Billy Graham and the hand of God being placed on someone like that. In the book of Ephesians, it talks about the He gave some as Apostles and some as a Prophet…alluding to the idea that sometimes we try to make these ourselves.  Last question concerns joy versus happiness and asks for elaboration on that.

10 – (56:40) – Why did God create Lucifer?
